Tax refund on Local Homes

 

As per article 75 of decree law no 8 of 2017, UAE nationals are eligible to recover input VAT paid on construction of new residence which is solely used as a residence of the owner or his family members. The refund request must be submitted within 1 year from the date of completion certificate issued by the competent authority within the state.

Documents required to submit the refund request for locals:

 
  1. Consultant agreement
  2. Site plan
  3. Engineering Drawings
  4. BOQ
  5. Tax Invoices (All Invoices must be tax invoices addressed to the owner solely with payment proof)
  6. Receipt vouchers from the contractor and the Consultant against tax invoices received
  1. Valid Emirates ID Copy
  2. Valid Passport Page copy
  3. Letter of finance from the government authority; if applicable
  4. Building Permit
  5. Bank IBAN Letter
  6. Completion Certificate from Municipality
  7. Contractor agreement
